Afghan woman raise their voice

The “Afghan Women Raise Their Voice” program was held at the Senate of Canada in Ottawa as an important initiative in support of Afghan women.

Organized through the leadership and initiative of several Canadian senators, the program aimed to stand in solidarity with Afghan women particularly women activists who have resettled in Canada while also supporting women who continue their courageous efforts inside Afghanistan.

Under an agreement with Senator Marilou McPhedran, I granted permission for the Senate of Canada to use a digital version of one of my most meaningful artworks, created in support of Afghan women. The artwork was printed as a photograph and presented to honorees who received certificates of recognition during the event

This experience was deeply significant to me. It gave me the opportunity to raise my voice on behalf of Afghan women and to express my sincere appreciation to the Government of Canada for its continued commitment to supporting Afghan women and their rights.

The artworks featured on this website are inspired by the creativity and determination of Robaba Mohammadi—a talented Afghan artist who, despite physical limitations, creates powerful and highly detailed realistic paintings using her mouth. Through her participation in various artistic programs and exhibitions, she represents resilience, ability, and a unique perspective on art.
